I wonder is Mr. Theroux ever reads these comments, because I would like to ask him why he goes into a lengthy tirade about the brutish French colonization of Tahiti, but says absolutely nothing about the Americans giving Queen Lilikualani the boot in Hawaii. I found his comments on the rest of the world,.... amusing...but it was a disappointing book at the end because, he is so startling oblivious to the heinous deeds done by the Americans to the people of Hawaii.
